Paranormal Activity becomes the top grossing “R” thriller of the past decade!
Crosses $100M Cume-So say my Paramount insiders about the $15,000 thriller that’s been in national release for only 5 weekends and began its distribution being shown at midnight only in a handful of college towns. This pic is one of the biggest entertainment stories of 2009 for sure. “What is truly amazing about PARANORMAL ACTIVITY is the depth of commitment from fans who demanded to see it,” said Paramount Pictures Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brad Grey in a statement to be released later today. “Adam Goodman, our head of production, believed in the film and championed it from the very first screening. So for all of you that said how much it sucked, it obviously didn’t that badly. Just because it was a low budget horror movie without sex, drugs, and gore doesn’t mean it was the worst movie ever. It is what it is!

So I saw The Fourth Kind tonight with my boyfriend. I definitely went in to the movie not expecting it to be fantastic (which, it wasn’t), but not terrible (and it wasn’t). Besides having to shut up the two annoying girls next to me about 4 times, I definitely enjoyed this movie. Even if the “actual footage” isn’t real, it definitely gives that appeal. The scenes were definitely disturbing, and I will probably even dream about being abducted tonight. So do you know the actual story behind The Fourth Kind?
“In real life, there was a string of disappearances in the small town on the west coast of Alaska, not far from the Bering Strait. In 2005, the FBI was brought in to investigate. The victims were largely native men traveling to the town from smaller villages, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
So if you didn’t get around to seeing this movie this weekend, you definitely should. If you don’t like horror movies, I wouldn’t. It’s not “scary”, but the footage is disturbing.
